The Harrington horse or the Irish Hobby was a breed of horse that is now extinct. It was a light riding horse that was popular in the 16th and 17th centuries in Ireland and England. The breed was known for its speed, endurance, and courage. It was particularly popular for hunting and hawking and was often used by the aristocracy for these purposes. However, by the mid-18th century, the breed had largely disappeared, due in part to crossbreeding and preference for other types of horses. Today, there are no known surviving Harrington horses.
